The Japanese adult film sensation is shedding off her old image, as she eyes a new era in her career.
Maria Ozawa, previously known as a pornographic film actress in Japan, is now planning to establish a long-term career in the Philippines, starting with her movie, Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, 'Nilalang.'
Ozawa said she's hoping to start anew, even find love while in Manila.
"Adult industry isn't an industry you can [stay in] forever," Ozawa told ANC Headstart Friday.
She said that while she has no regrets joining the adult film industry, Ozawa laments that her career choice brought embarrassment to her family.
"It was really hard, industry or family? I was stuck in the middle for years," she said.
"I've been handling that struggle over 10 years since the day I debuted," added Ozawa.
The transformation had not been easy either.
Ozawa said adult film girls get spoiled a lot but "they don't respect you" and that "in the backstage, they treat you like crap."
And while plenty of men fantasize about her, Ozawa said she has yet to find the kind of love she wants.
"[There is] this guy really hitting on me, and he really likes me [only for my] character, he's staying around with me because I am Maria Ozawa," Ozawa added.
"It's hard to find a decent guy, now I have a second chance in the Philippines," said Ozawa.
